ISRO on Tuesday efficiently carried out the fifth orbit-raising manoeuvre of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft from the ISRO facility in Bengaluru.
ISRO tweeted, “The orbit-raising manoeuvre (Earth-bound perigee firing) is carried out efficiently from ISTRAC/ISRO, Bengaluru.” ISTRAC is ISRO Telemetry, Monitoring and Command Community of the house group.
“ The spacecraft is anticipated to achieve an orbit of 127609 km x 236 km. The achieved orbit can be confirmed after the observations. The following firing, the TransLunar Injection (TLI), is deliberate for August 1, 2023, between 12 midnight and 1am,” it tweeted.

An ISRO official instructed PTI that following the TLI, the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft would escape from orbiting the Earth and comply with a path that might take it to the neighborhood of the Moon. In different phrases, the spacecraft would start its journey in direction of the Moon on August 1, after leaving the Earth’s orbit following the TLI manoeuvre, which might place it on ‘lunar switch trajectory’. ISRO has mentioned it will try soft-landing of the lander on the Moon’s floor on August 23.
