Famous Iranian movie director Dariush Mehrjui and his spouse had been stabbed to dying of their dwelling by an unknown assailant, state media reported Sunday.
The official IRNA information company quoted Hossein Fazeli, a judiciary official, as saying that Mehrjhi and his spouse, Vahideh Mohammadifar, had been found lifeless with knife wounds of their necks.
Fazeli stated the director’s daughter, Mona Mehrjui, discovered the our bodies when she went to go to her father Saturday evening on the dwelling in a suburb about 30 kilometers (19 miles) west of the capital, Tehran.
The report stated authorities had been investigating and gave no hypothesis on a motive, although the spouse had complained a couple of knife menace on social media in latest weeks.
Mehrjui , 83, was often called cofounder of Iran’s movie new wave within the early Seventies that primarily centered on realism. He acquired many awards, together with a Silver Hugo from the Chicago Worldwide Movie Pageant in 1998 and a Golden Seashell on the San Sebastin Worldwide Movie Pageant 1993.
Mehrjui studied within the cinema program on the College of California, Los Angeles within the early Sixties.
