Pakistan’s former international minister and Tehreek-e-Insaf social gathering’s Senior Vice President Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been declared “ineligible” to contest February 8 basic elections.
The appellate election tribunal on Saturday rejected Qureshi’s attraction towards the rejection of his nomination papers, The Information Worldwide reported.
Qureshi, 67, is at present lodged in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi in a cipher case.
Whereas Qureshi was cleared to contest polls from the NA-214 constituency in Sindh’s Umarkot metropolis, the ballot tribunal rejected his nomination papers for Multan in Punjab province.

The previous international minister had filed nomination papers for NA-150 Multan-III, NA-151 Multan-IV and PP-218, PP-219 constituencies.
Multan Excessive Courtroom Bar Affiliation President Rana Asif Saeed mentioned the election tribunal had rejected Qureshi’s attraction to revive his proper to candidacy.
Appellate Tribunal Choose Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar delivered the decision, he mentioned.
The PTI chief had filed appeals towards the rejection of his nomination papers by the RO’s for a similar constituency.
